1. Application Fee

Applications must be submitted online. The application fee is $105.00 for domestic applications and $125.00 for international applications. The fee may be paid by credit card or e-check. The fee must be paid before the application will be considered as complete, and the fee must be paid for each application submitted.

2. Three Letters of Recommendation

All letters of recommendation must be submitted electronically by the referee. The online application will automatically notify the referee and provide instructions on how to submit their letters.

3. Transcripts

UC Davis requires academic records from each college-level institution you have attended. You will be instructed to upload scanned copies of your transcripts after you have submitted your online application. For more details visit

4. Graduate Record Examination scores

GRE General Exam (verbal, quantitative, and analytical) is required. Submit scores to School Code 4834; Department Code 0608. Subject tests will be considered but are not required. For students enrolled in the MD-PhD program, MCAT scores can be provided in lieu of GRE scores.

5. TOEFL scores

TOEFL or IELTS is required if English is not your first language or the primary language of instruction for your degree. The minimum TOEFL IBT score is 550, or 213 if using the computer-based test. The minimum score for the new TOEFL iBT is 80. The minimum IELTS score is seven on a nine point scale. Submit scores to School Code 4834; Department Code 30.
